Established since 1985, John Sheehan (Oxford) Limited is a privately owned Groundwork & Civil Engineering Contractor, specialising in substructure packages and basement conversions.
The projects we have delivered to private individuals and major companies over the past 25 years, and our attention to detail, has given John Sheehan (Oxford) Limited an enviable reputation in the marketplace.
John Sheehan (Oxford) Limited has been commissioned to complete the substructure and external works on some of the Country’s finest country mansions, such as Tusmore House in Oxfordshire and Ingliston House on the Wentworth Estate. In addition to our residential projects, we also carry out much commercial work such as significant educational institutes like the Saïd Business School for Oxford University, and new construction work at Queens College, Oxford, all of which have been completed to the highest standards.
Our roots are in Oxfordshire; however, we operate successfully all over the South East, predominantly in the Home Counties.

We are not only experienced in new build basements and carrying out the open excavation works for the creation of a basement below a new property. Specialist works include excavation below your existing property while you carry on living there as normal. We can unearth below the whole footprint or under a specific area to create the amount of space you need.
If you would prefer not to excavate below your house, we can construct a basement below your garden, or if the creation of a basement under your house does not fulfill your need for space, we can extend your basement beyond the boundaries of your house by carrying out an open excavation and extending out below your garden.
